Our Story
Welcome to FairyTail Pet Care! Based in beautiful Nanaimo, British Columbia, we are passionate about providing professional, compassionate veterinary care in the comfort of your home. Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for your beloved pets through our unique in-home medical pet care services.
Our journey began with a desire to fulfil a need within our community. We noticed that many pet owners with mobility concerns struggled to bring their pets to a traditional veterinary clinic. Recognising this challenge, we started FairyTail Pet Care to offer a convenient and stress-free alternative, right at your doorstep. Our registered veterinary technician employs fear-free techniques, ensuring your pets receive the best care without the stress of travel.
Meet Our RVT!
Myrica graduated in 2018 from Thompson Rivers University with BSc in Animal Biology. She then started her journey into veterinary medicine as a veterinary assistant in a busy general practice in Kitsilano on the mainland. She then attended Douglas College's RVT program and graduated in 2022. After working for a year in general practice, she then got the opportunity to work at Boundary Bay Veterinary Specialty Hospital in Surrey in both their ICU and emergency departments. It was a wonderful experience and she learned a lot but after a year she was ready to slow down a bit. Moving to Nanaimo was just what she needed and she enjoys the slower pace of island life!
Myrica has a passion for senior pets and helping their owners with improving their quality of life. She believes in providing accessible care for both owners and pets and understands the struggle of those who have a hard time getting to the clinic. Being able to help owners provide care to their pets where they are most comfortable is something she is passionate about bringing to her community.
When Myrica isn't providing care to her patients, she is either crafting, hiking or snuggling with her own pets. She has a 12 year old Havanese named Kyndle, a senior rescue cat named Cosmic Creepers and a crazy kitten named Kiki.
